Appalachian Wild Ale Fermented with Local Plums (Red Wine Barrel-Aged)

Jitterbug is brewed with local barley & local raw wheat and boiled with burlap-aged hops. Fermented with our mixed house cultured in stainless steel. Transferred into oak for 4-6 months of aging. Transferred out of oak onto a massive amount of local plums, harvested fresh in the summer of 2022. Fermented and aged on the plums for months and transferred back into red wine barrels. Matured in the wine barrels for an additional 6 months. 12-15 months old at time of bottling. Conditioned naturally inside the bottle and kegs. Typically fluctuating with the variety of plums and along with that, intensity of plum flavor, this vintage of Jitterbug is back to featuring the damson plum. Packed with mesmerizing color from extended skin contact aging, Jitterbug is a visual stunner. Bursting with juicy plum juice backed by firm acidity, after a two year hiatus on a house-favorite wild ale, this year's vintage is not to be missed.
